Custom Design 13 ~ Style A

The design elements on the box were to evoke a deep interest in things related to oceangoing vessels – most specifically the RMS Titanic. I began to realize the connection between the son and the Titanic whenI discovered that his birthday (April 14th) was the same day the Titanic struck the iceberg that caused her to sink.

A theme developed designed around the logo of the White Star Line, which was the company that built and owned the Titanic, with a surrounding pattern of the foliate décor used on her 2nd class dinnerware. The son's initials were carved on the front panel of the box within an appropriate frame.
