music box containing a 72 note cylinder music movement playing Jesu,
Joy of Mans' Desiring by J. S. Bach. It was designed to be a symbolic
Basilica floor plan containing religious elements.The
stylized Basilica floor plan surrounds a very detailed carving of an ancient
iron cross.The four corners of the top have rose window type carvings.
This Style 'B' box is 8¼" x 12¾" x 3" H and houses a Reuge 72 note, changing cylinder music movement. The box is constructed of linden which has marvelous resonance qualities. The box is not meant for any other purpose than to play the music. It is not constructed to contain any other items such as jewelry. |
