Custom Design 3 ~ Style B

Each End Panel had a differnt nautical aspect carved on it.

On the right end panel a compass rose was carved to symbolize the many directions that life could take the grandchild.

The left end panel had a fouled anchor which represented both the "snags" that can be encountered along life's journey and also the firm attachement to the family that was always available to the child during tough times and good times.

All of the symbolizm of the various elements was explained in the provenance. (Even in the case of a newborn, I write the provenance to the child knowing that some day when they can read and understand it the impact will be that much greater.)
