David W. Crothers ~ Custom Woodcarving Artisan

In 1998, my carving was recognized as one of the most expert from around the world and published in a book by Wayne Barton entitled The Art of Chip Carving. Wayne Barton has been my mentor, my best critic, and a very close friend for many years. He is the most renowned chip carver in the world and has almost singularly been responsible for the resurgence of chip carving in North America through his teaching. I was flattered to have the Foreword I submitted to the author included in the book. The book has since become a benchmark for the diverse directions chip carving can explore when executed at the highest levels.
